NCDev Livinglab experience

At the beginning of our journey with newly NCDev Academy students had an  ecstatic experience, because the majority of them did not know anything about programming. 4% knew how to  design User Interfaces for mobile applications and websites. As you all know when you start something for the first time you feel lost and have no idea what will transpire so nerves creep in because you don’t want others to  see you like a failure so you try by all means to give in extra work inorder to understand the journey you are about to partake. 

Our students knew nothing about programming languages and we introduced them to the MTN App Academy beginners program where they started using the flutter framework to create their own mobile applications. As time went on they learnt  programming needs dedication, commitment and self practice, they started to learn Flutter and were able to build apps. But later they understood that it was not an easy journey. With confused ideas and with compelling thoughts to learn app development, they started to search for options to learn development. Weeks after that, some got an opportunity to attend a mobile app development workshop where they presented their App they built for our local municipality using Flutter Flow organized by (creston to fill the event organizers).

The journey did not stop there we also introduced them to designing business model canvas where they had to learn  general, holistic and complete overview of the company’s workings, customers, revenue streams and more.It is a one-page document that works through the fundamental elements of a business or product, structuring an idea in a coherent way.
